Urban Artisan's DIY Hat Burning Kit!

While we're sad to not welcome you in to the studio, this is SO fun and I cant wait to see your finished product. All skill levels can do this (adults should supervise children under 16 when working with a heat tool).
Here's how it works... You'll select a hat, template and embellishments, then purchase the kit (shipping is included in the cost). Once purchased, we drop a package in the mail to you and email a secure link to the Ebook and Video Tutorial.

The following items are needed, but not supplied in your kit:
Wood burning tool
Black ultra fine tip marker (if you have selected an ivory hat, light brown). Our favorite to use is the ultra fine tip sharpie
Scissors
Needle nose pliers if chain/charms were selected
Templates are designed to fit/be positioned to the hat as show in the photo. You can rearrange the layout and /or remove elements of the design. If you select the name/words template: We will size this accordingly to fit the backside brim. It is recommended to keep this to 1-3 words.

FAQ's:
Q: How long does it take to burn a hat? A: Our in studio hat burning workshops run 2-2.5 hours. We recommend allowing 2 hours to burn your hat (this will vary from person to person).
Q: How is the DIY course set up? A: The DIY course includes the kit shipped to your home. The eBook + video tutorial are emailed to you (via Canva) when your hat kit ships.
Q: What is the average investment in supplies when starting to hat burn? A: Anywhere from $15-$250. Any wood burner will work (basic $15 craft burner). We recommend wire tip wood burners (these heat/cool down much faster than a metal tip style). The eBook contains recommendations/pros and cons for wood burners.
Q: What is not covered in the DIY hat burning course? A: The standard version course does not cover sourcing or specific information related to hats, transfer film, decorating/embellishments, and/or creating and setting up graphic designs for hat burning. In addition, the standard version does not provide information to start up or run a hat burning business.
Q: How long will I have access to the eBook + video tutorial? A: 90 days (if you will not be burning your hat within 90 days, please email us so we can set your account access up for a longer period of time. By purchasing the course, you agree to all Urban Artisan terms and conditions and are prohibited from recording or sharing our exclusive material.
Q: What type of troubleshooting support is included with purchase? A: No additional support is included. If you have questions specific to placement of the design and/or burning on the fabric, please email us.
